Cell Phone Number Directories
You can use the cell phone number directory mainly for two purposes: to manage your contacts or to look up other numbers.
You can manage your contacts just as easy as you do it from your mobile phone and group them in many different categories, for example you can list them as friends, family, business contacts and so on. You can write text messages or emails using this application and you can choose if you want the notification recipient to see your number or not. You can also see your list of calls, and find out numbers that you have forgotten to write down and that you are in desperate need of, or even prove someone that you have called or have sent a text message (this might be a solution for ending a love quarrel).

Looking up phone numbers is called reverse search services. If someone calls you and you do not know the number, you can find out who that person is by looking up the number in a cell phone directory. Here you can find their name and maybe their address. I wouldn’t be so sure about the address since the reason for buying a cell phone is that you can use it anywhere and move from one place to another without changing the phone number.
One thing that crossed my mind when I looked up a number the other day was if the info that these cell phone number directories provided was really reliable. I mean how can you trust that a number you obviously don’t know, because that is why you searched it in the first place really belonged to the person they say it does.

The thing that you have to keep in mind when you register in a cell phone number directory is that by entering your personal data on the registration form you will also be visible to others that might look you up. You will have to give your full name , address, cell number and home number and thus become a “victim” of the system and may be called from advertising agencies that want to sell you something for example. On the other hand it could be a very pleasant surprise to receive a phone call from your old class mate that you lost touch with about 10 years ago and that moved with his family to another state.
