Germany is one of the states found in the European continent and is part of the many European organizations, like the European Union, ONU, the Counsel of Europe and so on. The history and the German language date ages back, but the German state only formed one hundred and fifty years ago, because the Germans’ ancestors come from the migratory tribes that wondered in Europe hundreds and thousands of years ago and did not felt the need to establish to a particular region.




Germany suffered a lot, financially and from many other points of view, after the First World War, when it was declared responsible for the war in the Versailles Treaty. This might have been the reason why Hitler got such a large public and so many people believed in his ideology. They felt oppressed, needed a radical change and someone to tell them that they are the “chosen nation” (the Arians). Many people didn’t realize at start the consequences and the implications of the Hitler’s political speeches, and when they did it was too late, they have already chosen a mad dictator to rule their beautiful Germany.



The name Hitler can still be found in the Germany phone directory but I believe that no one would admit they are related to him even if they were. He knew exactly what to emphasize and tickle in order to flatter the German people’s pride. No one knew what was going to happen and the atrocities that he was going to commit. Surely their choice would have been different if they knew. The population of Germany used to have quite a large percentage of Jews, whom he considered to be the cause of all the bad things in Germany. So he started building concentration camps and filling them with Jews and other ethnic minorities whom he considered were not good enough to live in Germany. What followed was a horrible crime, hundreds of thousands of people were killed like herds of cattle and their goods, part of the Germany’s cultural heritage, were destroyed.

If you look now in the Germany phone directories you will find few Jewish names, because very few jaws survived, and the ones that did got as far as they could from Germany and the memories of the concentration camps.

You can not even imagine the stories of the survivors of the Second World War genocide. People were not fed properly, were put to work till exhaustion, and they couldn’t work anymore they were killed. This was the fate of the children and older people too because they were considered useless, and the Reich (in German language Reich means empire) had no reason to feed them and provide them with clothes.
