Old phone directories

Even from its beginning, when people start buying phones, all the phone numbers were listed in a phone directory. This was a way of keeping the evidence. In that period the access to the phone directories was limited, not everybody could access it and if you did, it was very difficult. Old phone directories weren’t so performed as the new ones; but one can say that the old phone directories have something in common with the new ones; they used to actualize them all the time, because as we all know there are hundreds of people who change their phone numbers.

Old telephone book directories are known by all of us. We all had and still have access to these phone directories. They present in an alphabetical order the subscriber names, phone numbers and addresses. They were very used for the landlines. They don’t present cell phone numbers. All these old phone directories can offer you all the information you want, and all you need is a telephone book. That’s all and in a few seconds you can get all the information you want.

The old phone directories which are known by all of us are the White Pages and Yellow Pages. I don’t know a person who doesn’t know them. Everybody has appealed to its services and not just once, but several times. These phone directories present all the phone numbers of those who are willing to have their phone numbers typed in a phone directory. Because, let’s not forget it, there are many people who prefer confidentiality. They don’t want to receive calls from telemarketers or from people whom they don’t know.

There are many subscribers who change their phone number from different reasons, maybe they receive calls in the middle of the night from people who they don’t know or they change their residence. It doesn’t matter why they do this, what it does matter is what happens with the phone directories when they do this. Well, because the old directories were typed and every subscriber had one of these samples at home, they couldn’t change every time all the phone numbers. It was too difficult to do this. So, they used to change the numbers in their database, and the information which was published in the phone directories was changed at the end of the year. After they changed the phone numbers they used to offer to all their subscribers a phone directory. The online phone directories are daily actualized, while the old phone directories were actualized at the end of every year and offered to all the subscribers.

Although, the old phone directories don’t present as many advantages as the new phone directories, they were excellent in that period. Every thing has his fame period. They were excellent because everyone could have at home one of those exemplars and use it every time they needed it. It wasn’t difficult to use it and it was available to all of the subscribers.
