Technology leaves the printed books behind and even the telephone lines . This type of product has been forgotten more and more by the new generations who are no longer interested in the directory phone numbers . For most of the business , public institutions , people you know , lawyers , doctors , magazines , malls or supermarkets there are hundred of websites where you can find contact information even if they don’t own an official site . Their rescue represent that category of old people or poor people who does not have access to computers or internet . Many older people are faithful to phone directories and they consider them a must- have in their house .



The new generations are  also right . Besides of the websites of the business they need there are also different kind of web phone directories . For example , there are Yellow Pages which are part of the Yell Group and White Pages . The  first case it is a good example for how a great producers of products such as printed phone directories and phone lines , have  switched to another type of business . It had become clear the if they did not made a website with phone directories they will start losing clients . The majority of their faithful clients have quitted phone books and phone lines so they had to do something for keeping some of them . Yellow Pages contains phone directories for different categories such as : business , not only large companies but also small businesses , public institutions , bank , pharmacies , magazines , shops ,  malls ,supermarkets . White pages are something similar but they also bring something new . They also contain web directories for private people . If you search someone by name , address , you may be able to find that person’s number . Keep in mind that you may not find a number because people have the option to decide if their number is public or private so that no one can find it .



These two examples show once again that technology plays a great role in our life . Of course , they will still longer coexist the traditional means of information and technology but it is a matter of time before they will be out of the market . There are now supported only by the older people who are too old to find out how technology works , who do not want to invest in buying a computer and to have internet and some of them do not even want to learn or to even try this although they have the meanings .



It is important to respect everyone’s choices and as long as the companies who provide the phone directories have the means for pleasing the generation who can not conceive life without technology and also the people who would not quit the traditional printed directory or the phone lines , there will be no problem in finding out the information someone may need .
